“We do this for the children, it’s all about them,” says FDNY Firefighter Tim Carroll of Ladder 34 in Washington Heights, who along with other members of Engine 84 and Ladder 34’s charity organization, The Lil’ Bravest, donated a custom-built gaming kiosk to Blythedale Children's Hospital. The kiosk was designed to resemble an authentic ERS box, and is made out of medical grade plastic with wheels attached for easy maneuvering into hospital rooms for children who are unable to leave their beds. There is a television with a PlayStation 4 gaming system on either side of the kiosk, so that two children can play on separate systems when the kiosk is placed between them.
The Lil’ Bravest Inc. was founded to improve the quality of life for children who are hospitalized or being treated for childhood diseases. Their goal is to put a smile on the faces of kids who are going through a very difficult time. They believe that these kids are the true heroes and the funds raised go directly to improving their quality of life. To learn more about this organization, visit Lil Bravest.
